Bayer helps communities help themselves

In Trochu, AB, as part of the InVigor Drive In event, Bayer CropScience presented a $10,000 cheque to the Friends of Troval Society, a local charity. In fact, at each of the six InVigor Drive In events, Bayer provided a $10,000 cheque to go toward a local community initiative.

Kevin Hoppins farms northwest of Trochu and is President of the Friends of Troval. He explained the donation will be used to help build a fitness centre at the Trochu Valley School. While the province had approved modernization of the school, there was not enough money available to build a larger gym and fitness centre the community wanted. So Friends of Troval set out to raise the additional funds so the health facility could be built.

“It’s designed for all ages and is a much needed resource for our seniors,” said Hoppins, adding that a school makes a community, so he really appreciates Bayer’s donation to Troval. “We appreciate what Bayer is doing for the community. There is no other event like the Drive In.”
